Style Icon No.01-Bianca Jagger
As glamorous as she is bright, Bianca Jagger is one of the most recognized & beloved faces of the 1970s glamour scene. Born in Nicaragua in 1945 as Bianca Pérez-Mora Macias, Bianca would later moved to Paris, France to attend college on a full political science scholarship. While abroad she began her career in acting and modeling, appearing in various 1960s campaigns & European films. In 1970, after a Rolling Stones concert, Bianca met Mick Jagger at a house party. The couple would marry just 9 months later. The show stopping Yves Saint Laurent column gown Bianca paired with a smoking jacket & oversized hat, has remained one of the most iconic wedding looks to date. Unfortunately, their marriage ended 7 years later, due to extra martial affairs. Bianca would go on to become New York City's 'It Girl", further substantiating her status as a fashion icon. Some of her most famous looks came from the famous (or infamous, depending on who you ask) nightlife scene, which centered around the NYC club Studio 54. Through it all, Bianca remained a strong advocate for human rights, dedicating her life full-time to humanitarian work in 1981. Today, at 76 years old, Bianca serves as Ambassador to the Council of Europe Goodwill & head of the Bianca Jagger Human Rights Foundation (just to name a few things from her lengthy & impressive resumé). I recommend this article for more on the truly magical Bianca Jagger.
